About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Maths teacher to join a supportive and collaborative department. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring they develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and skills. You will also play a key role in supporting students' preparation for their GCSE examinations.

Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR): Available for the right candidate. (£2000-£5000)


Key Responsibilities:

● Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and effective Maths lessons that meet the National Curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of all learners.

● Create a stimulating and positive learning environment that fosters a love of Maths and encourages curiosity and exploration.

● Use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including technology, to cater to different learning styles.

● Assess student progress accurately and provide timely and constructive feedback.

● Prepare students for GCSE examinations and other assessments.

● Contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum and department initiatives.

● Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

● Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

● Maintain accurate records and reports.

● Teaching PSHE and occasional cover lessons


Essential Skills and Experience:

● Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Maths specialism.

● Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum for Maths at Key Stages 3 and 4.

● Strong teaching skills and the ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

● Effective classroom management skills.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

● Commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children.


Desirable Skills and Experience:

● Experience teaching GCSE Maths.

● Experience using technology in the classroom.

● A passion for Maths and the ability to inspire students.

● Experience with differentiated learning strategies.

● Experience working with students with SEND.

Qualifications and Experience:

● Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Maths specialism.

● Minimum 2 years' experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting.

● Experience teaching GCSE Maths.
