About the Role
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the SENCO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and teachers to support students with SEND needs (ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, etc.) academically and pastorally. This role is perfect for individuals aspiring to future careers in educational psychology, therapy, social work, or youth work.

Contract: Full academic year, term-time only
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Pay Rate: £25000 per year (pro rata)
Key Responsibilities
Supporting SEND Students:
Work with pupils who have a range of SEND needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties).
Deliver one-on-one and group interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning.
Ensure pupils can fully access the curriculum by adapting materials and approaches as needed.
Collaboration:
Partner with the SENCO, SLT, and teachers to monitor pupil progress and develop action plans.
Participate in regular reviews and meetings to ensure support strategies are effective.
Classroom and Pastoral Assistance:
Assist lead teachers with lesson delivery, supporting SEND students within the classroom.
Provide social and emotional guidance to help students develop resilience and self-confidence.
Developing Intervention Programs:
Plan and lead tailored intervention sessions to develop pupils' academic, social, and emotional skills.
Support pupils in learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Reporting and Communication:
Document pupil progress and share insights with teachers and parents where appropriate.

Ideal Candidate
Education & Experience:
A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
Experience working with SEND children (ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties) is a plus.

Ability to work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with pupils.
Strong organisational skills and adaptability to meet varied needs.
