About the Role
As a Youth Support Worker and Teaching Assistant, you will play a dual role in supporting students' academic and personal development. You will assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and provide additional mentorship and support to help students navigate challenges in and out of the classroom.

Contract: Full academic year, term-time only
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Pay Rate: £25000 per year (pro rata)
Key Responsibilities
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
Support students during lessons by providing one-on-one or small-group assistance.
Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
Prepare resources and materials to support teaching activities.
Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and areas needing improvement.
Youth Support Responsibilities:
Build trusting relationships with students, serving as a mentor and positive role model.
Support students in overcoming social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Develop and implement individual support plans tailored to students' needs.
Deliver workshops and activities focused on personal development, life skills, and resilience.
Collaborate with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive support network for students.
Ensure safeguarding policies are upheld to promote the safety and well-being of all students.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience working in youth support, teaching assistance, or a similar role is essential.
Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with the ability to engage and motivate young people.
Passion: Commit to supporting vulnerable young people in achieving their full potential.
Flexibility: Adaptable and capable of handling diverse responsibilities in a dynamic school environment.
SEN Knowledge: Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
Safeguarding: Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
Education: Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Teaching Assistance, or Education are advantageous but not essential if supported by experience.
