OMG Education Independent has been rated ‘Good’ across all areas in its first Ofsted inspection, conducted from 20 to 22 May 2025. Inspectors praised the school’s strong focus on individualised support, personal development, and creative learning opportunities

OMG Education Independent School has been rated ‘Good’ across all areas in its first Ofsted inspection, conducted from 20 to 22 May 2025. Inspectors praised the school’s strong focus on individualised support, personal development, and creative learning opportunities.

The report highlights that pupils at OMG Education benefit from a supportive and safe environment, where they are encouraged to develop both academically and personally. Inspectors noted that students learn about fundamental British values and participate in community activities such as local litter picking, helping them become productive citizens prepared for life in modern Britain.

The school’s ambitious curriculum was commended for building on pupils’ interests and supporting their progression to the next stage of education. Pupils, including those who are disadvantaged or have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), achieve well and are supported by staff who understand their individual needs. The school’s creative environment, including opportunities to work in the recording studio and perform for the community, was particularly valued by students.

Inspectors also recognised the school’s clear expectations for behaviour and the strong relationships between staff and pupils, which foster a collaborative learning atmosphere. Bullying is not tolerated, and personalised strategies help pupils maintain positive behaviour.

The school’s safeguarding arrangements were found to be effective, and the leadership team, including the proprietor and governors, was praised for ensuring staff wellbeing and meeting all independent school standards.

OMG Education has successfully secured approval to expand its age range and can now enrol pupils aged 11 to 18. This significant development follows a recent Ofsted inspection and a formal application to the Department for Education, in which inspectors confirmed that the school’s new premises and provision are suitable for accommodating both younger and older students. Previously, OMG Education was registered to admit only pupils aged 14 to 16, but with this change, the school can now support learners from early secondary through to the end of sixth form. This expansion allows OMG Education to offer its creative, individualised curriculum and strong pastoral support to a broader group of students, ensuring continuity of education and personal development throughout these crucial years. The school’s commitment to providing a nurturing environment and tailored learning pathways will now benefit even more young people in the local community.

Headteacher Helen-Rose Strachan welcomed the report, stating, “We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the hard work and dedication of our staff and students. We remain committed to providing a nurturing and inspiring environment for every pupil.”
