A flexible, trauma‑informed provision in Wolverhampton for young people who need an alternative to mainstream education.
OMG Education Independent School (OMG EIS) is developing a new specialist school provision in Wolverhampton, designed for young people who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education or need a more flexible, personalised offer. The Wolverhampton site will mirror the ethos and core principles of our London and Kent provisions, with small, calm learning environments, high staffing ratios and a strong focus on relationships, safety and belonging.
The new provision will be based at a dedicated site in Wolverhampton, with final premises currently being agreed. Once confirmed, the building will be carefully developed into a nurturing, future‑focused space where young people can rebuild confidence, re‑engage with learning and work towards positive next steps in education, training or employment. Full site details, including the confirmed address and opening timeline, will be shared with families and partners as soon as they are finalised.
Our Wolverhampton curriculum will be broad, balanced and bespoke, built around three core pillars: core knowledge, practical skills and life skills. This means learners will have access to personalised academic pathways alongside hands‑on vocational experiences and daily opportunities to develop independence, social communication and emotional regulation. Creativity and therapeutic approaches will be woven throughout, ensuring learning feels relevant, engaging and achievable for each student.
The provision will be explicitly trauma‑informed and relational. High staff‑to‑student ratios will allow the team to really get to know each young person, understand their story and respond flexibly to their needs. Class sizes will be small to reduce anxiety and sensory overload, and the daily routine will be designed to promote calm, predictability and a sense of security.
OMG EIS will work closely with local authorities, schools and other agencies in Wolverhampton to shape referral pathways and ensure the offer complements the existing local landscape. As the provision develops, we will continue to listen to families and professionals so that the curriculum, environment and support model are firmly rooted in the needs of Wolverhampton’s young people.
