Flexible Independent Provision – Unlocking Every Learner’s Potential

OMG Education Independent School is expanding its regional presence in Wolverhampton. Our Wolverhampton base has been established to support mobilisation, referral coordination and early placement discussions as we continue to develop local provision pathways for children and young people who may require a more flexible, specialist and supportive educational approach.

Please note that our Salop Street location currently operates strictly as an administrative, mobilisation and referral coordination office. This site does not currently host active learner delivery or teaching while our local provision pathways and Phase 1 approvals are being finalised.

Why we are establishing a Wolverhampton presence

At OMG Education Independent School, our belief is simple: Every Young Life Matters. We know that many children and young people need an approach that is more adaptive, more relational and more responsive to their individual needs than traditional settings are always able to provide.

Our Wolverhampton presence is being developed to strengthen local relationships, improve referral coordination and help shape future provision around the needs of the local community. By building a regional base, we are creating a clearer point of contact for schools, local authorities, commissioners and families who want to explore appropriate next steps for a young person.

Our vision

We believe every young person deserves to be understood, supported and given the opportunity to succeed.

Our Wolverhampton work forms part of a wider vision to provide flexible, trauma-informed and needs-led pathways for children and young people who may be struggling in mainstream education, at risk of disengagement, or in need of a more personalised approach. As this provision develops, our focus remains on creating safe, calm and purposeful pathways that help young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning and move towards positive futures.

What defines the Wolverhampton approach

The Wolverhampton provision is being shaped around a number of key principles:

  • A flexible and highly supportive intervention model that helps rebuild confidence and close learning gaps.

  • Relational, trauma-informed practice that allows each young person to feel seen, understood and supported.

  • Small, calm learning environments designed to reduce anxiety and support engagement.

  • A strong awareness of emotional wellbeing, regulation and individual need.

These principles reflect OMG Education’s wider commitment to providing meaningful, responsive support for young people whose needs may not be met effectively within conventional settings.

A bespoke curriculum in development

Alternative provision should never mean reduced ambition. Every young person deserves access to a high-quality educational experience that recognises both need and potential.

As part of our Wolverhampton mobilisation phase, our team is developing a bespoke curriculum model designed to reflect the strengths of our wider provision. This model is intended to balance three important areas:

  • Core knowledge, tailored to the learner’s pace and starting point.

  • Practical skills that build confidence, engagement and future readiness.

  • Life skills that support independence, emotional development and successful transitions.

At this stage, this curriculum should be understood as part of the planned Wolverhampton development pathway and not as active on-site teaching currently being delivered from the Salop Street office.

Early referral and placement discussions

We are currently welcoming early conversations with local authorities, schools, commissioners, professionals and families who would like to discuss potential future pathways for a young person.

These early discussions are intended to help us understand local need, explore referral routes and consider how our Wolverhampton development can best support children and young people requiring flexible independent provision.

Please note: submitting an initial enquiry or referral form registers interest for consultation purposes only. It does not confirm a student placement or a confirmed start date.

Working with local partners

We are currently in the early stages of building our Wolverhampton presence and are keen to work closely with local partners to ensure that future pathways are carefully planned, appropriate and responsive to local needs.

This includes engagement with schools, local authorities, commissioners and other professionals who share our commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people who need a different approach. Our aim is to develop provision thoughtfully, with safeguarding, suitability and long-term impact at the centre of planning.
