OMG, EIS announces a new specialist school site in Gravesend, Kent

OMG Education Independent School (OMG EIS) is opening a new specialist school site at St James House, 6–8 Overcliffe, Gravesend, Kent, DA11 0HJ, with the provision scheduled to welcome learners from September 2026. The Kent site will offer a seamless pathway from Upper Key Stage 2 through to Post‑16 for young people who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education, in a calm, small‑scale environment with high staffing ratios and a strong focus on relationships and emotional safety.

A key feature of the new provision is a dedicated on‑site Assessment Centre at St James House, enabling OMG EIS to build a detailed picture of each learner’s strengths, needs and aspirations from the outset. Working closely with families and professionals, the team will use this assessment process to co‑design bespoke support plans so that pupils are assessed against their own starting points, rather than compared to each other. This ensures that progress is meaningful, personal and clearly evidenced over time.

From September 2026, the Kent site will introduce a forward‑thinking curriculum built around three core pillars: core knowledge, practical skills and life skills, with creativity embedded throughout. Creative learning will be recognised as an integral part of pupils’ personal development and long‑term wellbeing, giving young people multiple ways to communicate, regulate, explore identity and experience success.

Education and wellbeing will be supported by integrated therapeutic input and a wrap‑around offer for families, ensuring that social, emotional and mental health needs are understood and met alongside academic learning. With low numbers, small classes and a strong community ethos, the Gravesend site will provide a safe space for children and young people to reconnect with education and prepare for confident, independent futures.
