We are proud that The Guardian has featured St James House, our new specialist school and assessment centre in Gravesend.
The article explores how Giggs and OMG Foundation are working together to create a supportive, ambitious provision for neurodivergent young people and pupils who need an alternative to mainstream education.
Based at St James House in Gravesend, the provision combines specialist education with an on-site assessment centre. The centre brings together educational psychology, occupational therapy and speech and language expertise to help families understand a young person’s strengths and needs, and to support access to the right help at the right time.
The article shares the personal experiences that inspired Giggs to become involved in the project, including the challenges his family faced in accessing assessment and support. It also highlights the shared commitment of Giggs, OMG Foundation CEO Jamal Miah and Executive Head Frances Akinde to create an environment where young people feel understood, valued and able to recognise their potential.
At St James House, our focus is on building confidence, communication, creativity, independence and positive futures. We are delighted to see this important work recognised nationally and look forward to welcoming pupils and families as the provision develops.
